Rugby: A meaningful and cooperative approach to teaching a world game
This session will use the sport of rugby to teach a unit developed around the meaningful physical education framework and cooperative learning strategies. Come and learn how to teach a dynamic and inclusive team game, which may be completely new to you and your students, embedded with concepts such as the stages of learning, goal setting, and self efficacy. Cooperative learning strategies will be used throughout to help students develop skills in the affective domain, including challenge, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills. This will be an active, hands-on session so get ready to play!

Paddle Zlam
An exciting new way to get kids of all ages to enjoy exercising. Paddle Zlam combines pickleball, volleyball and KanJam into a very unique interactive and cooperative sport.  Great to utilize in a backyard games unit and can be played indoors or outdoors.  We'll provide leadup activities and games, as well as ideas for maximizing equipment use.  Paddle Zlam meets a large number of GLOs, a list of which will be shared.  Best of all, it's just plain fun!  Come kick up your enjoyment during this active session!

2 lucky participants will leave this session with their very own PZ set!

Facilitating Deeper Connections to Physical Activity in Physical Education
In this session, teachers will examine the role of SEL in physical education and learn how to align an assessment system to the affective domain. The presenter will share a system for helping students connect with their relationship to physical activity, identify what makes physical activity meaningful to them, and build upon their strengths as a physically active person.

The owner of Homegrown Yoga in Versailles, KY and a HPE teacher from Woodford County High School teamed up to design a program to certify students to become 200 hour registered yoga teachers so they, in turn, can give back to their entire school district. The Outdoors is for All Students!
Outdoor Adventures (OA) K-12 is an outdoor education curriculum with 290 lessons in 34 units. The outdoors can be enjoyed by all. Everyone will learn how to catch Backyard Bass and play interactive wildlife games. OA can be taught in any school in Kentucky. The Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation will give ALL new schools a $1000 equipment or curriculum grant. The OA curriculum has distance learning built into every lesson. Units include: NASP, fishing, survival skills, camping, wildlife conservation, camp cooking and much more. Schools report a 30% increase in P.E. enrollment. OA becomes the most popular course at your school.
