The mission of Playworks is to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play. Through Playworks’ direct services and professional development, schools experience a reduction in negative behaviors and bullying, increases in physical activity, and recover academic time through positive transitions. Playworks measurably increases social/emotional skills in children and contributes to positive school climate. The interactive presentation includes an exploration of play, specifically as it relates to recess, as an essential part of the school day, demonstrations of group management techniques, attention getters, and student-lead conflict resolution, and participation in multiple games.
